Description
The Flag Halyard armchair was created in 1950 by designer Hans J. Wegner and reproduced by the Mobler brand. Stainless steel frame. Headrest cushion in fabric or leather in various finishes. The ‘look of this seat seems rather futuristic, the basic idea was conceived on a hot summer afternoon under rather mundane circumstances. While children were playing in the shallow waters along the beach, Wegner was digging and forming a place in the sand for himself. At that moment he thought of a comfortable chair to enjoy the vacation. While having obvious preferences for wood, Wegner shows his curiosity and courage for creating and using steel. He pays homage to early modernists such as Le Corbusier, Mies van der Rohe, and Marcel Breuer, and shows that a stainless steel seat can live and be as elegant as a wooden seat. This chair constitutes luxurious relaxation with the option of adding a sheepskin cover to soften the sharpness and industrial rationality of the steel.White sheepskin is included in the price. All sheepskins come from Iceland and are by-products of food production. All sheep have lived in open fields, and the skins have been treated without the use of chromium. In this version: natural vegetable leather headrest cushion, natural Jute straps, white sheepskin, and chromed base.
