Calipso is a pendant lamp designed by Neil Poulton for Artemide, made of technopolymer. Available in different models and sizes. Calypso has a design derived from a numerical algorithm extrapolated from a photograph of the moon. The result is a fractal, a non-pure geometry that renders the irregular beauty of nature. Consisting of many small circles of varying diameters, they are placed side by side with precision to reconstruct an organic whole: Calipso is a lamp that synthesises optical intelligence and aesthetics, capable of infusing considerable emotion.
