Description
Faubourg Rug, produced by the ClassiCon brand, is the result of the creativity of Eileen Gray, considered a pioneer of modernism. This furniture is intended to pay homage to her work by reproducing one of her paintings. The rug’s name Faubourg comes from the location of Gray’s studio on Rue de Faubourg St. Honoré in Paris.Faubourg Rug with just a few strokes expresses all the spirit of the most iconic furniture of the 20th century. Faubourg is based on a 1920s gouache, an example of pure minimalism, a natural white square background and three juxtaposed simple black lines designed to create an emotional yet kinetic dynamic. The two curved lines hark back to Eileen Gray’s furniture designs, such as the iconic Adjustable Coffee Table E1027, in which circles and curves are recurring motifs. Finally, a single edge forms an effective contrast to the swirling movement of the other two elements.Square rug available in two sizes, made of 100% hand-spun New Zealand virgin wool. Handwoven with 80 knots per square inch (6.45 cm²). Environmentally friendly colored pigments, tested according to OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100. Requires little maintenance and is suitable for vacuuming.
